theirs a way in the pokemon emerald version.
1.go to the battle frontier
2.then go to the battle tower
3.go to the PC and pick pokemon in your party that you want to clone and deposit them into box 9 (you can only do 4 at a time)
4.then save your game
5.then take the pokemon you deposited into your party (dont switch the pokemon, put the pokemon your taking out in empty spaces or the pokemon you switch will be deleted)
6.then talk to the lady at the counter at the far right
7.then chose open lv
8.when you go to save before you battle you will notice a pause
9.then dont save turn your game off after the pause
10.then turn it on and go to the PC and in your party and box 9 their will be the pokemon you cloned and dont worry it wont mess up your game
after you can transfer them to the pal park in pokemon diamond or pearl
